After an outstanding amount of work over the past few years, Michael and his team at Foto have finally released the desktop version of the Foto app. Something all us photographers have been waiting for….
Foto stands alone from other platforms for me and gives us photographers the power to share our work, view with others and interact. You wont find any of that pushed data crap, adverts and useless uninteresting content. Just pure imaging.
You all might remember back in October 2010 when Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger launched a photo sharing platform called Instagram. Then, that was all about imaging and sharing photo related content until that greedy little yank came along and ruined it completely. IG now has no value whatsoever for us photographers and thats why Foto really is a relevation. Yes, there are other photo sharing platforms but they too now feel the need to support their platforms with ad’s etc.
Hats off to Michael here as he’s managed to self fund the Foto app/project without the need of outside funding. A huge cast indeed. A big thank to you Michael from all of us photographers who believed in you , your team and your vision. You must be immensely proud of what you have achieved. RD
