After an outstanding amount of work over the past few years, Michael and his team at Foto have finally released the desktop version of the the app. Something all us photographers have been waiting for….and it looks impressive
Foto stands alone from other platforms for me and gives us photographers the power to share our work, view with others and interact.
You wont find any of that pushed data crap, adverts and useless uninteresting content. Just pure imaging.
You all might remember back in October 2010 when Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger launched a photo sharing platform called Instagram. Then, that was all about imaging and sharing photo related content until that greedy little yank came along and ruined it. As I see it, IG now has no value whatsoever for us real photographers and thats why Foto really is a revelation. There are indeed other photo sharing platforms out there and sharing ones work is all about choice and what works best for you. For me, its Foto. All then others have lost direction fueled by adverts, raising costs and selling your data
Michael tells us that Foto will never run ad’s, never sell your data and he will keep listening to us, the end users
Hats off to Michael as he’s managed to self fund the Foto app/project without the need of outside funding. A huge task indeed. A big thank you to you Michael from all of us photographers who believed in you , your team and your vision. You must be immensely proud of what you have designed and achieved. RD
